Let's Party!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Shea!!!

Shea has had a great birthday week. We topped it off this weekend with her party. We started at our house and had our family come for lunch. This was the first gathering we've had in our new kitchen, wow did we love that. It was fun to entertain in it after all the work that was put into it this winter. Some people were seeing it for the first time. We had great reactions! Shea opened some presents here. New pink crocs, horse riding lessons (money to start taking them), nail polish and a ballerina bear. Then it was time to head into Hilliard where she would be having some friends meet her at Galaxy Game and Golf. That was fun! The kids played in the big jungle gym area until the pizza's were ready. Then they went into our party room for food, drinks and the all important cake and ice cream!!!

She had a pink ballerina cake. It was yummy!!! Marble (chocolate and vanilla together) with whipped icing, that they made pink! Shea was able to blow out all five candles in one breath. Wheww...wait a few years! After that it was time for more presents! She received a Barbie that you can cut her hair, Littlest Pet Shop, money, huge bubble ring (makes giant bubbles), Ken and Barbie, a large pencil (which she loves) and a baby doll.

After that the kids headed out to the golf course to play putt-putt. I have to say, all the kids did well with this. I was surprised. They managed to hang in there and play all 18 holes.

Sunday we woke up and felt rested, even if Will didn't sleep that well. This was going to be the last nice day for a while. Spring Break started and we wanted to do something fun with the kids. We headed to the zoo!!! The weather was great, just needed a sweat shirt. The Columbus Zoo had a new arrival last week, another Elephant!! It does not have a name yet, the public can submit names and on Mother's Day it will be announced. When we arrived, the wait was one hour to see the new baby. Ah, what to do. I explained to Shea that the baby can only stay out for a couple of hours each day until he gets bigger and then he can stay out longer. With our pass, we go to the zoo a lot. I told her we'd come back and for sure see him then. She was very agreeable to this. After all, she really wanted to see Bodi. You see, five years ago at the zoo there were two babies born. One elephant and one gorilla. Both those two and Shea were born in the month of April. They are all the same age and Shea has to see them each visit we make. We were very lucky Sunday, Bodi was outside enjoying the sunshine. He could care less he has a new brother. He wanted to entertain this crowd!

Bodi!!!

There was one animal sunning himself that you don't get to see up close too often. That is the Sun Bear. We had a great view on this day!!!

One of Shea's favorite areas is the Gorilla's. She wanted her picture taken on the sculpture. This is Mac. He is the oldest Gorilla in captivity and he lives at the Columbus Zoo!!!

It was a great visit. Shea and Shawn have certain things they like to do together at the zoo and they did them all yesterday. The reptile house, feeding the Lorikets, this other indoor exhibit that just drives my allergies nuts. We all had fun. Will LOVED the aquarium. We was in ahh for a while. We even saw the Penguins being fed. If you get the chance, visit this wonderful Zoo. It was voted on of the tops in the country for kids.
Shea, we hope you enjoyed turning 5!! It's hard for us to believe you are this old. You are growing up so fast. You are becoming a very lovely young-lady. We love you!!!!
