It's February and while the calendar says it is still Winter, we had a taste of Spring last week. Man oh man does it hurt now!! We had lots of ice and some snow on the ground and Mother Nature gave us a gift of warm weather to melt it all. **Insert many praises*** It wasn't long-lived. Winter came back with more ice and snow. Bummer. But.. We've managed to get some fun in!
First thing was our niece, Nola, turned one year old! She had a nice intimate party. The kicker is this... Shawn holding her and she loved it! You see, Nola doesn't let anyone but her Mom hold her. We were all impressed with this development. She knows a nice man when she sees one!
During the first ice storm we encountered we were all getting sick. Yuck! As luck would have it, strep throat went through the house. I now have a huge case of cabin fever! We did get out and about over the last few days. However, more ice and snow hit us last night. Please, Mother Nature, I'm begging you to give us a gift of early Spring. Think she'll listen??

Chief, not so much! It was hard for him to walk around. He's ten now folks! Shawn had to carry him up the back porch steps after he "did his business". Poor guy...
The rabbits enjoyed some nuzzle time. They seem to be doing great this winter. Thanks to me trekking out to put straw in their houses. Plus, the lovely heated bowl system Shawn and Shea made.
We hope you are staying warm and enjoying Winter as best as you can. Basketball is occupying some of my time. I also read Pioneer Woman's book she just put out. I keep checking the flower beds in hopes of seeing early Spring signs. None yet but you'll hear my screams of joy when they do appear!
