Just A Snowy Day

Shea has a book that she likes to read and it is titled Just A Snowy Day. I thought that was appropriate for a day like this! The snow started yesterday afternoon and it hasn't stopped too much. Shawn had trouble getting home last night, took him two hours. Today, he is working from home. Shea thinks this is great but doesn't grasp the concept that Daddy still has to work.

This morning Shea wanted to go out & play since pre-school was cancelled. Our neighbor, Russ, came over to "play" with his four wheeler and plow the drive way. Will got so excited when he looked out the window & saw Shea out there. He & I bundled up & out we went!

Shea was excited that I let her hold Will in the snow for a photo. I'm not so sure Will liked it!!!

Chief loved running around in the drive way but he was the first to want back inside...go figure! After a few minutes, Will & I headed back in. Shea soon followed. During Daddy's lunch break they plan to go back out. Shea has BIG plans for him today!

Chief

Hopefully you are enjoying this snowy day!!!!

Happy Four Months!!

Happy four months old, Will!!! It seems like you just came home from the hospital. We love that you are in our lives. It was one year ago this week that we found out I was pregnant with you. My how fast time flies. Now you are learning how to sit up on your own, laugh, razz your slobber every where & play with your toys.

Here is Will this morning being a ham.

Recently, he has some favorite things he likes to do. One of them is stick his tongue out. He cracks himself up! Here he is, trying to sit up on his own, he's trying hard to find hid balance.

One of his favorite toys right now is...His feet!!!! He'll lay and play with them, jabber to them, it's quit funny!

Even though he doesn't allow me to get much sleep, he's a pure joy! Don't you agree?

Reinforce that floor!

Over the weekend we did get a lot done with the kitchen floor, you just can really tell and that disappoints Shawn. I can tell when I walk on the floor! You see, in order to install any type of flooring we had to beef-up our sub floor. First, Shawn had to screw the existing plywood down, that took a lot of time. Then he layed down the new plywood and had to screw that down, that too took a lot of time. You see the pattern here, screwing this stuff down takes forever. I tried to help him but he fired me after one screw! This process took all day on Sunday. The room looks brighter now that there is one color of plywood down. It's so much more sturdy when you walk on it too.
Chief is "supervising" the stairway while Shawn works.
Shea really wanted to help her Dad. He had her help him draw the lines on the existing plywood so he would know where he needed to put the screws in. She loved this activity. She did a really nice job!!

Shea and Shawn putting down the lines.

This is something you don't see every day...I had to take a photo! Since everything was moved around in the kitchen on Sunday and half of the stuff back into the living room area, I did not have a place to set the crock pot in the kitchen and be near an outlet. Next best place...The bathroom!!! Everyone needs a crock pot and a coffee pot in their bathroom. Needless to say, it smelled good when you went in there.
Our Sunday dinner.
On Saturday there was ice on the ground but that did not stop Shawn and his father from going into Hilliard and picking up our kitchen cabinets! That's right, they are now here!! YEA! Shawn opened one box up and brought it into the house. I LOVE THEM! I liked them in the store, love them even more now that I see them in a more "natural light" setting. We held the paint sample up to the cabinet and really liked it. I can't wait to see them in the kitchen. We shouldn't be too far off from installing them. That is so exciting.

Now I must go and finish cleaning up the mess from the work this weekend. Seems to be my Monday "thing". It's cold and snowy...what else is there to do? Hope you had a good weekend!

The Bumbo Picture

You were probably wondering at the bottom of my last post where the picture of Will was in his Bumbo. It was there...When I posted it, I noticed that it was gone. I guess that is what happens when you have a wiggle worm on your lap as you are trying to type. Here is Will's new Bumbo. Sunday night he sat in it for a while!

Mr. Will!!
Tonight is the big Fiesta Bowl game. We have been saying GO BUCKS all day today! I'll get a picture of the kids in their game gear. We will prevail tonight... Although, I won't hold my breath.

Go Bucks!

More Kitchen progress

Happy New Year! We start 2009 off right where '08 ended...remodeling the kitchen! Shawn had some time off in December & we were able ( he was) to make some progress. The drywall work is done, WAHOO, so is a lot of the dust. Shawn had to texture to spots on the ceiling and then prime the walls. I tried to help with that part but Will wasn't having anything to do with not being held. The crying was more unbearable than Shawn painting by himself. It turned out really well!!!
Shawn texturing the ceiling.
We headed to Sherwin Williams yesterday to pick out our paint color. I had samples with me that I liked from Lowe's that I wanted to match up. We went with Sherwin Williams because we love their product and they have a good paint for kitchens and bathrooms. The gentleman was very helpful but I think Shawn was about to loose it when he told him he needed to do a gray primer since we were going with a bold color. See, let's back up a bit...I told him that when we painted Will's room this summer but he told me I was nuts and the guy at the store sold me a bill of goods. Well now he's telling Shawn the same thing...it wasn't my imagination!!! We came home with a primer that is gray and he did put it on last night. The color we picked is called Jalapeno. It's a burnt orange, I can't wait to see it on the walls!!!
Here are the walls in white primer, looking great!

On Saturday, I had to get out of the house for a bit. Shawn needed some new shirts for work and Will...he needed something to "hold him" so I didn't loose my mind. I love the boy but I have an attachment most hours of the day. He will sit in his swing for a while. I broke down and picked up a Bumbo. He likes it!!!! When HE wants to sit in it, not necessarily when I want him to sit in it. But, it is a help.
