Reinforce that floor!

Over the weekend we did get a lot done with the kitchen floor, you just can really tell and that disappoints Shawn. I can tell when I walk on the floor! You see, in order to install any type of flooring we had to beef-up our sub floor. First, Shawn had to screw the existing plywood down, that took a lot of time. Then he layed down the new plywood and had to screw that down, that too took a lot of time. You see the pattern here, screwing this stuff down takes forever. I tried to help him but he fired me after one screw! This process took all day on Sunday. The room looks brighter now that there is one color of plywood down. It's so much more sturdy when you walk on it too.
Chief is "supervising" the stairway while Shawn works.
Shea really wanted to help her Dad. He had her help him draw the lines on the existing plywood so he would know where he needed to put the screws in. She loved this activity. She did a really nice job!!

This is something you don't see every day...I had to take a photo! Since everything was moved around in the kitchen on Sunday and half of the stuff back into the living room area, I did not have a place to set the crock pot in the kitchen and be near an outlet. Next best place...The bathroom!!! Everyone needs a crock pot and a coffee pot in their bathroom. Needless to say, it smelled good when you went in there.
Our Sunday dinner.
On Saturday there was ice on the ground but that did not stop Shawn and his father from going into Hilliard and picking up our kitchen cabinets! That's right, they are now here!! YEA! Shawn opened one box up and brought it into the house. I LOVE THEM! I liked them in the store, love them even more now that I see them in a more "natural light" setting. We held the paint sample up to the cabinet and really liked it. I can't wait to see them in the kitchen. We shouldn't be too far off from installing them. That is so exciting.

Now I must go and finish cleaning up the mess from the work this weekend. Seems to be my Monday "thing". It's cold and snowy...what else is there to do? Hope you had a good weekend!
