Meet Buster

As you may know, Shea loves horses and has since she was very young.  Pink room with horses on the walls, horse bed spread, horse everything.  Last summer she began taking horseback riding lessons.  The place was nice but it was a twenty-five minute drive from the house.  This year for her birthday she asked for money to resume riding lessons.  I went on a search to find something closer to home.  With the power of Google I found THE perfect spot!  Their property is beautiful and it backs up to our Lake.  Just minutes from the house and we're there.  Not to mention the owners are fabulous.  Leanna, Gus and their son Derek welcomed us very nicely.
Ready, Set, begin lessons...

Meet Buster.  He is a great horse, a little stubborn at times but aren't they all.  Also, meet Leanna our wonderful instructor.

Buster started out wanting to play with the baby.

Soon Shea re-gained control and they were walking.

And trotting.  Almost a canter once, he listened as Shea told him faster.

They have a very large out door arena that is the size of most fairgrounds.  Shea is learning balance, patterns and to control the horse and make him do what you want and when you want it.  She looks forward to going. Last night she even asked Ms. Leanna if she could help feed them.  Buster gets a treat when Shea is done riding him.  A peppermint.  He loves them!!  For more information about the farm please visit their website http://www.greyhavensfarm.com  They are accepting new riders for lessons and we highly suggest you try it out.

As part of her balance practice, Ms. Leanna plays Simon Says while riding the horse and she gets to go "around the world" one of Shea's favorite things to do.  She giggles...

Thanks for meeting Buster.  I look forward to bringing you more photos of our journey with him.
