September 15, 2008 at 3:56 p.m. Will Thomas Huntington arrived.
We are extremely glad that he decided to stop rocking and rolling inside the uterus and come join the party in the real world!! Will weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and is 20 inches long. He has a good set of lungs on him, thankfully we rarely hear it! Big sister Shea Alexa is SO excited that her brother is finally here.
Will enters the world!
Monday morning I thought this was finally the day and was feeling a few contractions coming at a more consist ant pace. Shawn went off to work, Mom & Dad headed back home and Shea was with me. The storm (Ike) had done so much damage around here and few had power that school was cancelled. By 11 am I was for sure this was the real thing this time- they weren't stopping. The contractions were about 10 minutes apart. Then all of the sudden, they became 4 minutes apart. I had called Shawn to say, you may want to come home soon. A few minutes later my friend Jen Kuck stopped by and she took one look at me and said, "you're in labor aren't you"? Why yes, I was! She called Shawn back and said get home! She also called our friend and my OB and told her what was going on. Dr. Jenn suggested we head to the hospital to avoid a possible accidental home birth. Jenny and I gathered my things, loaded the kids into the car and dropped them off at Jodi's house (along with her cell phone that was charging at our house). Jenny then proceeded to drive to the hospital which is when we encountered a detour due to a road being closed. No biggie, Jen kept a cool head and my calm! She helped me get checked in and waited with me massaging my feet until Shawn arrived. By 2 pm it was evident that I wasn't going back home, they were keeping me! The contractions came fast and harder, that is for sure. After Dr. Jenn did an emergency C-section she came in and broke my water- how it hadn't on it's own at this point is a mystery. She said to relax, get the epidural and she'd come back in a couple of hours and we'd deliver this boy. WELL...here's the problem folks. I suspected that after the water broke he'd want to head on into the world. My hunch was correct. I attempted to get the epidural but it did little good. With in 30 minutes of Dr. Jenn heading back to the office she was at my bed side again and Will was ready to come! He did so at 3:56 p.m.Will enters the world!
Our little man is here!
The Huntington Family
We were able to come home late last night (Tues) and we are all doing well. It was fantastic to sleep in my own bed, in my own home and no one poking me. The rest I've been getting here at home has been great! We want to thank you all for your love and support through the pregnancy and now post-delivery. Come back often, I'll try to post more pictures of the kids. Will will change so much so fast.

Wonderful Will! What a blessing to see our family grow and welcome another grandchild, once again we are totally in love with a new member of the family. So glad we got there in time and thank you for letting me witness the miracle of Will's birth. Will has great parents and the best big sister for which we are so thankful, he is a very lucky little boy. We will try not to spoil him, just love him a whole, whole lot. Love, Grandma and Grandpa Huntington
