The Start of Soccer

It's been a busy couple of weeks around here.  So sorry to not have gotten to an update.  With the start of school brought the flu and an upper respiratory virus to our house.  Everyone is on the mend!  We've been busy with soccer practice, horse back riding lessons, school work, Shawn's work and prepping for Will to turn two!  Sunday the kids had their first soccer game!  They are the Cosmos and they did a great job!!

Here is our first practice.  Shea wasn't 100% sure what all was happening but she is catching on quickly and seems to really enjoy it.  Here she is with Kiki getting ready to do some drills.

The kids were waiting their turn for a drill, I entertained them with photo taking!  They didn't seem to mind.

Yes, this does mean that Will is being dragged to more of Shea's practices and games.  He keeps himself entertained pretty well.  He loves DJ's four wheeler...

Wait!  I must interrupt this update on soccer to bring you the late breaking news....

Shawn got a running hot rod!!

This was also keeping us busy the last couple of weeks.  Shawn had to put a new starter in it, it quit running on it's voyage to our house.  It is a 1976 Chevy Laguna.  Shawn has always wanted one and we found one!  Will is in total love with it.  He cries if we go somewhere and can't drive it.  The last two weekends he's asked Shawn to ride in the hot rod.  He just sits back there and smiles, the whole time!!

As I said before, yesterday, the Cosmos had their first game.  They all did a really good job.  For some, like Shea, it was their first true game.  She was excited and not nervous.  Marvin and DJ did a great job coaching the kids and getting them to play different positions.  Shea did a nice job and even tried to kick a goal.  They did win their game.  I think they were all thrilled with that.  Here are some memories...

Abby, Shea, Amber and not pictured Abby W were the front four.  These girls played really well together and ran the ball down field to score a couple of times.

Sam needed to take a break and he was sitting beside me.  He posed so nicely that I couldn't refuse the opportunity!

I love this shot.  Amber was so excited at one of the goals we scored that she ran down field with her arms up and big smile.

Shea getting instructions from Marvin on where to kick the ball into play.

Ready...  Set... Kick!

The kids are enjoying the game.  Shawn and Will are loving the fact there is a running hot rod in the garage.  I've got lists a mile long of things to do.  That's just a quick run down of the last couple of weeks.  I'll try to get better at my updates!  Everyone enjoy their Monday!
