Party for Two

Saturday we had Will's birthday party for turning two!  It was a beautiful late summer day and to make it even sweeter we were watching our beloved Buckeye's!  Of course Will doesn't understand that part.  He just yells run at the TV and then cheers.  Shea and Grandma Godsey finished decorating his cake.  Mom made that and these adorable cupcakes.  Jenny said that Will had to have them!

Grandma and Shea decorating.

Cake

Lawn mower cupcakes!

As everyone arrived for lunch, Buckeye game and the rest of the fun... Will was asleep!  I guess the anticipation wore him out.  When he woke up he was raring to go.  He was more than ready to tear into the cake!

Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you...
at the end of our in tune singing, he was ready to blow!

Then decided he wanted to "dive into" a cupcake.

He had lots of great presents to open.  I was able to get only a few good shots of him.  I was in a bad spot and the kids were "helping".  Which was great.

Another unveil.  This time for a motorcycle! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Huntington. He's still unsure about using the pedal.  Yesterday, I bribed him with a piece of candy to use it.  It worked.  Then he resumed using his feet.  Arg...  I'll have to get a photo of him actually on it for you.

Shea was a great big-sister and helped him open his gifts and read his cards.  He received lots of cool tractors, trucks, books, puzzles, shoes, bicycle, race track, soccer ball, money... He loves playing with everything.

To go along with the Spider Man bike Great Grandma Pat and Aunt Nan got him was an outfit.  HE loves it and asks to put it on a lot. I think this may be his Halloween outfit.  Here is part of it...

The kids were ready for the tractor pinata!  Why not, there was only three pounds of candy inside!

The big kids needed an activity too.  I guess you are never too old to play with water balloons.  Just ask Derrick, Dallas and Shawn!

I have to share this picture.  Shea and Brianna have been friends since around the time they learned to walk! They love being together and with school in session it makes it harder but we do it when we can.
They are too cute!!!

All week I had been talking to Will about having a party for him.  He kept saying no no no and shaking his head.  I don't think he understood. At the end of the night I asked Will if he liked his birthday party.  I was pleased to see the smile on his face and the big "yes" that came out of his mouth.  Ah.. another pleased birthday child.  We are glad!
