Snowy Days

I've lived in Ohio all my life. You think I'd be used to the cold, gray, snowy days of winter. I'm not! I like it in the month of December, makes it more "Christmas-like". Over the past week I think we've had snow each day, which is fine. Yesterday, we had a significant snow fall and the kids got out of school early. After Shea was done sledding with her friends, Kendall & Noah, Shawn picked her up on his way home and Will, Chief and I were waiting to go out and play.

It takes a while to get Will prepared for the elements. Shea is finally old enough she needs little assistance. Just reminders. Wear a hat. Don't forget your gloves! Here is Will as we head out.

I put him down in the snow and he wasn't sure what to do. He stood there for a long time. He watched Chief run around. Shea fed Bailey.

Shea even did Snow Angels....

Her favorite, going down the snow covered slide at warp speed....

Chief had enough, here he is waiting to get back inside the toasty warm house....

That's when Will decided it was time to move. He wanted to get to the sandbox. That's when... He fell smack dab into the snow. My Motherly instincts kick in, take a photo! As he yells, "Mamma.... Mamma"! Poor boy is helpless. I pick him up and that was it. He was ready to head in. He'll get used to Ohio....Maybe!

Meanwhile, I thought I'd give you an update on our indoor winter project. As you may recall from an earlier post, Shawn's parents (Paula & Wayne) gave us money for Christmas to go toward the purchase of our flooring. Shawn & I have been busy installing it. Here are pictures of the living room and hall way. We did get both kids' rooms done last weekend, I need to get photos taken. We hope to start our bedroom this weekend.

What fun things are you doing this winter? Staying in or playing in the snow? What ever you do, stay warm!!!
