On Sunday we started the tearing up of the old!! We even enlisted the kids to help and they were happy to do so. We'll see if they are still happy about this in a couple of months. We started in the living room, we boxed up our stuff and the ripping began. I found quiet a few things to purge from the house. Plus, I have talked Shawn into getting rid of that huge entertainment center. A new decor direction is hopefully coming.
Here are the kids helping to take the padding up (what is left of it) and putting it in the trash can. Will and Shea both enjoyed helping. That is until Shea said this was too much work and went off and played.

While Will napped, Shawn and I were able to tear up the rest of the hallway, closets and stair case. I can tell you I am sick of pulling up those stinking staples! The stairs still need done. That's for this week during nap time. I have to say, the plywood floors look better than that old nasty carpet!
Stair way leading up stairs.

Down the hall. We left the carpet in the bedrooms for now. One area at a time is our plan. See Chief laying there... That is what he did all day yesterday. He supervised us working. Ah, the life of a dog. He also found the dirtiest areas to lay in. Why must animals do that?

Will was happy to hold up a sample of the new flooring. It looks good and we love it. It is called Brazilian Cherry. Next to the cabinets, you can see the Cherry in it. Then when it is next to our trim you can see the dark brown in it. The lighting was bad today, it looks more blond here than normal.
